YSL| Rouge Volupe #12

Another little gem I got for Christmas is this YSL Rouge Volupe Lipstick in No 12- Forbidden Burgundy*. This is quite possibly my most lusted after product ever and has started a love affair.
Everything about this lipstick oozes class and I actually have it on display on my dresser because I can't bear to put something so beautiful in a drawn- is that sad/stupid?

I love everything about this lipstick, I mean firstly look at the packaging! Just wow. I mean I love the packaging for most high end make up products but I really do think this is just a whole new level of beauty.
And the actual lipstick doesn't disappoint either. It's so soft and creamy and goes on like a dream. I like to wear this two ways; either rubbed in to create a stain or full on to create a really bold lip. This lipstick doesn't bleed and stays put. It doesn't have the best staying power compared to some other lipsticks I own but it really does stay on me for a good 3 hours+ which I can deal with.
I'm not usually a fan of glossy lip products and in fact I don't actually own any lip glosses. I think I owned one way back when I was about 14 and it was only a clear one apart from that it's really not my thing. What I like about the Rouge Volupe is that it has that slight gloss but nothing OTT and it still feels like a lipstick.

Another great thing about this lip stick is it is really pigmented so you don't need a lot..therefore making it last longer. Makes me feel like I'd be getting my monies worth (even though I didn't buy this one but do plan to buy some more myself!)

Overall, I think I have started an Oh-So-Dangerous love affair that will keep drawing me back to the YSL counter which can only end badly for my bank balance.

Have you tried the YSL Rouge Volupe? Whats your favourite shade?

  1. The packaging alone will make you want to find another color to love! It's gorgeous. I have this color as well and you're right, not a fan of glosses but I don't mind the glossy finish on this one! :) This is my favorite winter shade. I also have Rose Paris and it's my favorite to wear in the summer time! xx

  2. Ahh, so pretty! Love dark lipsticks at the moment, they look so good and I love how you can layer them, so you can goth it up if you want to but they can also be quite sheer x

    1. Save up your boots points! Thats what I am hoping to do. Bit of a false economy as you have to pay out to get points but would feel so good getting for free! I LOVE the packaging! xx

  9. This colour looks beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I own one YSL Rouge Volupte in Orange Shiver, I came across it in a discounted beauty shop and paid about £5 for it. I love it, it's so creamy and pigmented. One day I will treat myself to a full priced one...
