The Jar of Happiness.

I never do New Years Resolutions as I know I will never stick to them, so there is really no point in me even setting them. I always think of things I want to make more of an effort with or concentrate more on but I never 'set' a list of things I want to achieve as in the long run, if I don't achieve them it will only end up with me feeling worse about things.

If you know me/ follow me on twitter you may have seen I am having a rough time at the moment, I'm not going to go into it  but lets just say I'm not having a great time so I wanted something this year that would help me focus on the good in my life. Something I can stay positive for. I had seen a couple people saying that they were doing a Happiness Jar or Blessing Jar and to be honest, this is exactly what I need.

Like a lot of people I have got stuck on everything that is wrong with my life at the moment, that I have forgotten all the good that I have around me; like a boyfriend that has supported me through everything, Friends that I couldn't be without and that what I want to focus on.

Enter my Jar! Every day I am going to write something good that has happen/ something nice someone has said or a general happy thought. I am not limiting this to one a day. The more the better, I say. I might even start off printing little pictures to go in there as well.

On New Years Eve, I will empty my jar and be able to look over the year and remember all the good times I have had. I know a lot of people just get rid of everything but I think I might buy a scrap book and stick all my little notes in there so I have a constant reminder and I can remember all the good bits we tend to forget.

Have you started any projects for this year? I'd love to hear about them.

  13. I'm doing five year journals. A q&a and a happiness project one. Also started a similar type if jar. On a bad day, take one out but it can't be put back in. At the end of the year, count how many are in there and start again the next!
